Westwood Village had been an entertainment center for West Los Angeles since its inception in the mid 20th-Century. But in the past 15 years, it has witnessed a decline. This study is commissioned by UCLA's Citi-Lab to explore how to revitalize Westwood Village as a destination. Collaborating with Roger Sherman Architecture and Urban Design, EC3 developed an approach that combines the "High Culture" offered by UCLA with the "Low Profile" of today's Westwood Village into a synthesized and coherent vision. The resulting urban strategies are documented in the following presentation for a panel discussion at the Hammer Museum in October, 2011.
